The Kingsmill Tea ~ August 6th

The Annual Kingsmill Tea

The Kingsmill Tea is our annual anniversary celebration and what better way to celebrate than with a High Tea.

Although our little tearoom was founded in 1994, we have only had the pleasure of being the owners the last two years.  It has been an amazing two years, in which we have strived daily to raise the bar.  Not just on the food, the service, or the merchandise, but on the ambiance. That special tearoom atmosphere. We can’t take all the credit though, we owe much of to all of you. You are the reason for our success and we take great joy in being a part of everything that makes our tearoom great.

So you’re invited to the celebration on Sunday August 6th.

First seating at 12:30 pm
Second seating at 3:30 pm
It will be a traditional high tea, with four courses.  Which includes hors d’oeuvres, tea sandwiches, scones, desserts and as always a never ending pot of tea. The cost is $25 per person

SEATING IS LIMITED AND RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED

“Family Disaster Dogs” Book Signing ~ August 27th

Amber Higgins, author of Family Disaster Dogs will be at Lovejoy’s on August 27th between 1 and 3 pm.

Amber S. Higgins who spent over a decade breeding and training AKC bloodhounds for nationwide Search and Rescue FEMA volunteer work along with German shepherd dogs. Since 1976, Amber has dedicated her life to dogs. She is a certified and accomplished professional dog trainer, award-winning AKC breeder, and a show and pet grooming stylist. She is considered by many to be a dog expert and consultant. Amber currently owns a popular pet grooming spa on the Oregon coast.

What is a family disaster dog? It is your trained dog to rescue you! The Family Disaster Dog book shows you how easy a pet dog of any age, size, or breed can become your very own search and rescue dog! One of our biggest fears and chores during a disaster is losing or finding a loved one, and every dog has the ability to find its family members or friends. We, as dog owners, only need to learn how to use the natural ability of the dog to the full advantage during emergencies. As disasters and threats increase worldwide, we are asked to prepare for the worst in case rescuers cannot reach us quickly. With a family disaster dog in the household there is no need to wait for outside help to arrive to save your family and neighbors during a tornado, earthquake, or other emergency. This book will show you how to survive the worst and prepare. These fun and easy lessons are tailored for the family to learn rescue skills in the comfort of the home during daily activities.

We hope you will join us for the book signing and stick around for tea.

See you for tea!

February 14th, Valentines Day Dinner – Butter Chicken!

Authentic Indian food in Florence?   Please say it’s true!

Over the past several months some of you have had the privilege of joining us for a special evening dinner service.  In December we served an indian curry dish, spicy and mild, with an amazing lentil soup, chapati bread, and a mango ice-cream dessert.  In January we served chicken Korma, with homemade paratha bread (layered flat bread) a mango dessert.

The reviews have been amazing, and many of you have commented that this needs to be a regular service.  So, starting in February we will have two special dinner services a month.  Each dinner service will have its own special menu which we will announce in advance.  The dinner will include your choice of tea, an amazing main course, a side, and a handcrafted dessert made in house by our very own pâtissier.

We are thankful for all the positive feedback we have received, and we look forward to seeing you for tea… at dinner.

Dinner service will start at 5 pm, with the last seating at 7:30 pm.
Reservations are suggested.
